SLAYER Drummer's Collaboration With DJ SPOOKY THAT SUBLIMINAL KID Expected In The Fall
May 30, 2003SLAYER drummer Dave Lombardo's "agro-hip-hop" collaboration with DJ Spooky That Subliminal Kid is set to be released before the end of the year through Thirsty Ear Records. The project reportedly spanned two days at 12 hours per day in Dave's home studio in Victorville, California. No further information is available at this time.
As previously reported, Dave has postponed indefinitely work on his previously announced solo album in order to concentrate on his other projects, including the recording of a new GRIP INC. album, tentatively due in early 2004 through SPV/Steamhammer Records in Europe, JVC Records in Japan and an as-yet-undetermined label in North America.
The follow-up to 1999's "Solidify" — the bulk of the songwriting for which will once again be handled by ex-DESPAIR guitarist Waldemar Sorychta — will be recorded this summer at Woodhouse Studio in Hagen, Germany.
SLAYER have been tapped to headline the Fall 2003 edition of the Jagermeister Music Tour, scheduled to kick off in October. More details, including the names of the bands that will make up the rest of the bill, will be announced soon.
